We've also been contacted by Michael and Gyvel Witzel in Austin. They have nearly finished their second book on Route 66. Legendary Rt 66 will be published by Voyaguer Press of Motors Books, and  they want to include the Triangle Motel. Isn't that great?

Have you seen the new colorful and informative Route 66 Pulse newspaper yet? Wow! Head for your nearest
tourist attraction. The Big Texan Steak Ranch on I40E and the Senior
Citizens Center at 1300 S Polk in downtown Amarillo are two places that have it. You can also find copies at the Triangle Motel when you stop out there.

Every page is packed full of exciting things--sometimes sad--but mostly inspiring
restoration projects going on all up and down the Mother Road. And they're free. "Just think of all these
historical places finally being restored" and "Look what they're trying to do here," can't help but pop into your mind as you're reading through it.

Incidentally, did you see "CARS"? Once  the movie actually
gets to Route 66, it is marvelous. See you at the movies!

Ten year old Mariah Metoyers article about her family's first trip on Route 66 should be a classic. And she's right. When you travel the huge highways, you'll see little but empty space between the cities. But when you travel Route 66, you'll see the backbone history of ou country, the remnants of the pride and courage of our forefathers.

Loads of vivid colored shots add to the reading pleasure. Any local merchants interested in ad
vertising--and you should be--if you want to reach lovers of Route 66 scenes-- contact Bob Lile,
Old Route 66 Association of Texas, crocodilelile@peoplepc.com or call cell phone 806-664-3089.
It's great to see the Texas advertisers.

Emily Priddy of Tulsa wrote a page and a half article about our Route 66 Work Day Aug 19 forthe Pulse Newspaper. I loved the way she ended the story, for she describes the enthusiasm
and excitement of those involved in saving distinguished sites for future generations. The  title is "Triangle team tackles trashy task." She is an excellent writer!

With Emily’s approval, I quote some of her article. “There’s no way to describe the feeling you
get when you drive past a Meramec Caverns barn and think, “I helped paint that ‘R’”. There’s no way to describe the bond between people who have spent a weekend working side-by-side to preserve a piece of history… And there’s no way to describe the feeling you get when you see a property owner like Alan McNeil break into a big smile as he tells you that you’ve exceeded his expectations and given him reason to hope.”
